Naked
02:31
|
|||
This is the most naked I have ever been
I hope that you appreciate all my fuckin skin
Yeah my organs would all be out in the open, if not for my skeleton
Cuz the waxy parchment my veins are wrapped in is pretty goddamn thin
These are the worst jeans that I have ever worn
My wallet keeps falling out of my pocket and the seat of the ass is torn
I keep telling myself I'm gonna learn how to fix, but every time I try I always get bored
Gotta find my a person with thread in her purse and take them off in the middle of a grocery store
Life is a series of walls coyotes keep crashing into
Roadrunners seem to run right through
Imaginary holes seem pretty goddamn real
when they're in your fuckin life jacket
In the middle of the ocean at a cool jacket party that you wish that you weren't invited to
I wish that you could come with me
be my jacket, my jeans
help me find my keys
cuz when they're not on me
This is the most naked that I have ever been

Monuments
01:55

Eight more hours
Even more in the tower
Melt away in the shower
The body brings the flowers
Bleeding the oxygen
Feeding the monolith
Counting crypts
Stoically sits the pyramid
Tiny screen in your sarcophagus
Watching people with animal heads
Leaning towards isosceles
Hiding from your sphinx
We carved our faces into the side of the mountain
Now we have to rotate it to make sure that it's facing the internet

Shithole
05:21
|
|||
The relics are rolling through town
Fire trucks long out of commission
Did they ever save anyone?
Five miles per gallon, smoking engine combustion
The irony isn’t lost on me
Stalling in the crosswalk, spilling gasoline
The bastard is screeching all rusty and green
In the chevron parking lot exhausted I think
Take me away from this shithole
This naturally beautiful shithole
Coyotes making tracks in the snow
Small critters lay dead by their paw prints
The fog settles thickly in the valley below
Like stains on the living room carpet
The pruning of apple trees is lost on me
Whethered in orchards like glass on the beach
Falcons and eagles overhead circling
Looking for small prey, I see them think
Take me away for this shithole
Idyllic coastal town of a shithole

Interlude
02:16
|
|||
Remember to write the thing you thought
Before you go to bed
As the mice inside your walls
Are running through your head
As your eyes focus on the corners
The shadows of your notes
Anxious that nobody
Can read the thing your wrote
Never repeat a good thing twice
It does not get better than this
Draw the devil til you get him right
And start with something permanent
If you need a break from the arbitrary rules
If Satan's horns don't fit on the face you drew
I thought that you might like an interlude
Remember to not be so hard
On yourself if you forgot
Before you went to bed
To write down the thing you thought

Black Hole
03:27
|
|||
Whose gonna serve the cold cuts when my son Dan breaks his arms off
Anxious as the mailman in the dreams of your sleeping dog
You ain’t getting nowhere on the phone there in the parking lot
Whose gonna scrape the pavement when the kids forget their sunblock
Just screaming into the Black hole
Whose gonna fix a battery on a shit-ass Saturday at the hospital
Too tired to explain it to you in way that is relatable
We’re getting nowhere cause of interference in my hand signals
Whose gonna set the clocks back when the end times turn to digital
Black hole
